The other side of revisionism

How can a Christian history defend men like Sen. McCarthy just because they were radically opposed to the evil Communist threat to Godly democracy? How can a Christian history curriculum juxtapose inspirational quotes by Gen. Douglas MacArthur with inspirational Scripture? How can a Christian  history curriculum highlight the strengths of the conservative Republican presidents (who of course were all fervent men of prayer) and maximize the weaknesses the liberal Democratic presidents (who typically won office only by slight margins)?

Is the Prince of Peace so weak that he needs our nuclear weapons? Is the Kingdom of God (a.k.a. love) so ineffective that it depends on the divisive politics of a proud nation?
