Context

“The distinction between the sacred and secular can no longer be maintained.”

Spend some time around Faith Builders and you will hear this statement almost verbatim. As much as I agree with it, I find it hilarious that this particular quote comes directly from the Humanist Manifesto I. Naturally, I checked the list of signatures at the end of the document. No FB legends showed up so I think we’re safe.

Context is important.

    If you spend anytime around FB you will also hear Erasmus of Rotterdam, known as the first Christian humanist, praised to high heaven.

    Hmm…. now it all makes sense…. ???
